Women in Tech Data 450 Mentee Code of Conduct

Guidelines to ensure respectful and productive relationships between mentors and mentees in our program.

1. Respect and Professionalism:

  • Treat your mentor and fellow mentees with respect, courtesy, and professionalism.

  • Value diverse perspectives and foster an inclusive and supportive environment.

2. Commitment:

  • Honor your commitment to the mentorship program by attending scheduled meetings and actively participating in discussions.

  • Communicate promptly if you need to reschedule or cancel a meeting with your mentor.

3. Confidentiality:

  • Respect the confidentiality of information shared by your mentor and fellow mentees.

  • Do not disclose any personal or sensitive information without explicit consent.

4. Engagement and Learning:

  • Approach the mentorship program with an open mind and a willingness to learn and grow.

  • Take initiative in setting goals, seeking feedback, and implementing suggestions provided by your mentor.

5. Communication:

  • Maintain clear and respectful communication with your mentor, including being responsive to emails, messages, and calls.

  • Be honest and transparent about your expectations, challenges, and progress.

6. Responsibility:

  • Take responsibility for your own learning and development by actively engaging in the mentoring process.

  • Utilize the resources and opportunities provided by the program to enhance your skills and knowledge.

7. Feedback and Improvement:

  • Provide constructive feedback to your mentor and program organizers to help improve the mentorship experience for everyone.

  • Be open to receiving feedback and use it to make positive changes in your personal and professional development.

8. Ethical Conduct:

  • Adhere to the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior in all interactions.

  • Avoid any behavior that could harm the reputation of the Women in Tech Data 450 program or its members.

9. Respect for Boundaries:

  • Respect the personal and professional boundaries of your mentor.

  • Understand that your mentor is also a professional with their own commitments and limitations.

10. Continuous Improvement:

  • Strive for continuous improvement and seek opportunities for growth beyond the mentorship program.
